The design tests the static and structural potential of rattan as a flexible seating material. The focus is on the interplay of compressive and tensile forces, which are absorbed by the material and balanced by the flexible construction consisting of an inner core and outer ring. The result is a dynamic seating object that makes targeted use of the elastic properties of the natural material and translates them into a functional seating structure.
